Dan DeYoungDan, a representational landscape painter prefers to work en plein air. In other words, her likes nothing better than to set up an easel in a beautiful landscape and capture it on his canvas. His favorite sites are National, State or Provincial Parks. In Kentucky, his inspiration springs from deep personal connections with the people and forests of Appalachia. His pursuit of a light unfettered by atmosphere ahs led him to the deserts and mountains of the American west and the Canadian wilderness. Dan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky, a masters degree from Frostburg State University in Maryland, has served as a captain in the US army and Vice President of Bravura Architects. His work has won many awards and can be seen at galleries throughout Lexington, Frankfort, and Louisville. He currently teaches elementary drawing programs through Young Rembrandts.
