Carole Waddell LoganCarole likes to work out in the open. She loves it when passersby offer opinions and encouragement. Her inspiration comes from the historical architecture of Louisville, one of the oldest Victorian cities in the United States. For Carol, painting on location is necessary to give her work a sense of time and place. Cityscapes are especially exciting because of the way light plays off the buildings, casting angular shadows and elusive reflections. But she also paints landscapes. The more organic forms and soft edges form a marked contrast to the hard lines of the city as well as a contrast in mood. The serenity and peace of the countryside allows Carole to regain the energy she needs to once again return to the bustle of the city. Back to artist list |
