Eunice Noderer

Eunice is the third generation of women artists in her family. Ever since she was a child in eastern Kentucky she’s been painting flowers. Eunice first painted with her grandmother in the cottage garden of her home and now paints in her own garden and studio here in La Grange.

She has traveled throughout the world painting the sunflowers of Tuscany, the tulips of Holland and the poppies and irises of Monet’s garden in France. But painting was not always her first love. She taught college level math as well as performing feature roles in the Orlando Opera Company before an illness in the family forced a reassessment of her life and led to a return to painting. She is greatly inspired by the works of Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keefe and this blend of influences is evident in her work. For while most watercolorists work in pastels, Eunice prefers bold washes of vibrant color moving within a controlled representational line.
