KIDS SUMMER ART CAMPS
Mrs. Luce's Art Caboose
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Each summer camp meets four days Tuesday through Friday. Each four day camp costs $100 which includes all materials and art supplies. Instructor: Lea Ann Luce
Puffy PaintJune 18-21
With Puffy Paint the children will learn about color, space and texture. It is very clean as the instructor uses shaving cream mixed with paint and it smells good! They will start with a cupcake, then a sailboat and then sea turtles. The last day they will take their time to enhance the art they have created and get them ready to take home to hang on the wall! Snack will be provided! Please make sure your child does not wear their best clothes!
This colored paper technique for making mosaics will teach children about space planning, the different colors needed for making a painting work. This will also teach about the shades of colors by using the lights and darks indicating where the light falls and shadows are cast. First they will do a tree and next a bird and on the last day they will fix up their work by making them look finished.
Possibly your child's first print! Monoprints are produced on a hard surface painted and then designed by the children. They then place a paper on top and then image is mirrored on the paper! Definitely do not want to send the kids in your favorite kids on this day...but it should be lots of fun! They will start with something easy, like a flower or a tree with a bird, and if you send with with a t-shirt, we can print the image onto a t-shirt for them the third day. On the fourth day, we will clean up our work and get them ready for taking home.
The art of overlapping and shading your nooks and crannies! These cute little penguins are in space and need their helmets to breathe! They will use pencils and blending stumps to draw cute space penguins. On day two, they will draw a bowl of oranges and day 3 they will draw a school of fish. Day four they will make all of their pictures look finished!
Wax and Paint Resist
On white paper, they will take their candle and create shapes and designs . When they paint over the wax with watercolors, their design magically appears! Very Artsy! Day one designs, day two under the sea and day three bird on a leafy tree branch. Day four they will put finishing touches on their paintings from the previous day in order to finish them.
July 30-August 2
They will draw some really cute puppies and kitties using a grid and by using shapes. In drawing these are two very strong and important techniques for your children to learn. Day one they will draw the puppy using a grid, day two they will draw a puppy using different shapes. Day three they will draw a kitty using a grid and day four they will draw a kitty using shapes. After each drawing session they will color the animals!
